Responsibilities
- Install, calibrate, and repair all new, used, reconditioned, and damaged medical devices and troubleshooting equipment according to manufacturer or vendor documentation
- Installing and calibrating new biomedical machines, equipment, and software according to medical specifications.
- Evaluating the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of biomedical machines, equipment, and software.
- Maintaining and repairing biomedical machines and equipment, when needed.
- Providing technical support, when needed.
- Keeping up-to-date service histories on all biomedical machines and equipment.
- Training personnel on how to use biomedical machines and equipment, safely and effectively.
- Researching new materials, technologies, and engineering aspects of biological processes and systems.
- Writing reports and documents detailing protocols, policies, standards of use, maintenance, and repairs of biomedical equipment, machines, and software.
- Updating the inventory, placing orders, and verifying deliveries.
- Training and orienting the medical employees on the usage and troubleshooting of the medical equipment.
- Enhance compliance with safety regulations and IPC measures.
- Keeping a digital record of equipment repairs, faulty components, and recalibrated devices.
Qualifications, Experience and Competence:
- Bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering or a diploma in Biomedical Engineering with 5 years of progressive experience.
- Proven experience working within the field of biomedical engineering.
