Career Opportunity: Director, Operations
About this Opportunity: GeoPoll is the leading provider of remote, mobile-based research in emerging markets, providing full-service solutions to its clients.
It is the world’s largest mobile surveying platform working in Africa, Asia, and Latin America and is looking for a Director, Operations based in Washington, DC, Denver, CO or Nairobi, Kenya to supervise and manage projects in several different locales.
We are looking for an individual with a deep understanding of the international research space who can manage projects being delivered across multiple modalities.
This role calls for an attention to the minutiae of each project as well as a focus on the larger overall project portfolio.
The ideal candidate must have solid experience in market research and a keen interest in building and maintaining relationships with a wide variety of clients.
The ideal candidate for the role has the capacity to work in a multi-cultural environment and an ability to juggle and execute on numerous responsibilities, sometimes on tight timelines.
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the delivery, budget, and quality specifications of projects across multiple modes (SMS, Mobile Web, IVR, CATI – Computer Assisted Telephone Interviews & CAPI – Computer Assisted Personal Interviews)
- Oversight and day-to-day provision of strategic, operational, financial, and managerial leadership for 5 direct reports and 4 project teams of 20+ staff
- Managing the project pipeline and resources and providing accurate and timely reporting of status, obligations, and financial deliverables to the executive management team as required
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining standard policies and procedures for project teams
- Reviewing status reports and key performance indicators from the Project/Portfolio
- Team and address issues as appropriate
- Work hand-in-glove with the Business Development team to ensure smooth project handoffs and successful project implementation & execution
- Providing high level issue resolution support to clients and team members alike
Requirements:
Must haves
- Bachelor’s degree
- 8+ years in Program Management
- 4+ years in a management role
- 4+ years in research-related field (quantitative and qualitative experience required)
- Experience in managing, designing, implementing, and evaluating multi-country projects
- Understanding of the fundamentals of international project research
- Excellent communication and management skills
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Expertise in the writing & editing of technical reports
Nice-to-have
- Master’s degree (International development or social sciences)
- Project Management certification

Compensation: Annual salary (commensurate with experience & qualifications) ranges between $95,000 and $125,000.
