Career Opportunity: Information Communications & Technology (ICT) Manager

Our Client is a well-established Hotel in Nairobi.
They seek to hire an ICT manager who will be responsible for Information Technology issues, products, and services at the property as well as providing user training and support of all property/site systems, network enhancements, hardware and software support and maintaining the inventory of all hardware products and software licenses, and reviews maintenance agreements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that IT facilities meet the needs of individuals, guests and staff.
- Planning, developing and implementing the IT budget.
- Ensuring operating systems and other software are up to date.
- Ensuring there is security of data from internal and external attacks as well as security of network access and backups.
- Implement effective backup systems and have in place data retrieval processes in the event of emergencies.
- Troubleshooting and resolution of all ICT related issues.
- Regular audit and preventative maintenance of all IT related equipment on a regular basis.
- Maintaining the server infrastructure and ensuring that the server’s health is maintained.
- Ensuring LAN and WIFI access in rooms and other areas of the hotel.
- Assist with the Car Park Management System.
- Support for video conferencing and public area systems that include microphones, amplifiers, speakers, projectors, cameras and televisions.
- Maintaining the hotel phone system.
- Manage and monitor local vendors and/or local representatives of global / area vendors.
- Provide recommendations when it comes to improving the organization’s IT systems e.g. in relation to purchasing/renewals of ICT, upgrades, viable alternatives, risk and compliance measures and controls, cost management and controls etc. by providing regular reports.
- CCTV Framework maintenance support.
- CCTV management, maintenance and installation.
- Managing telecommunication systems.
- Train staff on IT systems.
- Management, recruitment, training and appraising IT employees.
- Managing hotel management software; Micros, Opera, Sun, Materials Control.
- A good understanding of audiovisual and sound equipment for functions.
- Managing hotel inventory of ICT and updating as and when required.
Qualification & Experiences:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering Information Systems, or a related field
- At least 6 years’ experience in Information Technology with at least 2 years’ experience at a management level.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Systems management and support experience preferred.
- Previous hospitality systems experience preferred.
- Must be conversant with Opera, SUN, MICROS and Materials Control.
