Position Title: Internal Motor Assessor
Applications are invited from appropriately qualified candidates for the position of Internal Motor Assessor in the Claims Department. The position is open to internal & External candidates.
Position Summary: The successful candidate shall be the motor consultant and will co-ordinate verification of various claims of the policy holders as provided for under contracts of insurances.
Key Deliverables:
- Review external assessors’ reports and ascertain the correctness of assessments & recommendations
- Verify the pricing of parts before authorization of repairs
- Provide the necessary technical opinion on consistency of damage
- Carry out audit on repairs & follow up on findings by renegotiating costs with repairers and advising the external assessors on ways of improving services
- Periodic on-site assessment to ascertain the damages and confirm repairs are proceeding as agreed initially
- Supervise the performance of external assessors and repairers
- Handling of customer complains in regard to the repairs in liaison with the external assessors
- To compile and update the database of different vehicle models – parts and their respective prices for comparison with Assessors’ Repair Quotations
- Ensure all the Claim Supporting documents are availed for every Claim before the repair authority is given.
- Follow-up on giving authority to repairs immediately upon receiving all the documents and verification of the Assessor’s Reports
- Assess all motor vehicles within Nairobi as allocated.
- Scrutinize all the assessment reports submitted by external assessors and recommending the next course of action.
- Appoint external assessors.
- Ensure that all assessors conduct themselves professionally and ethically and make recommendations where action is warranted.
- Recommend for a second assessment on accident vehicles within and outside Nairobi whenever necessary.
- Isolate and carry out repairs audit for the specific cases identified at the time of scrutinizing the claim form and assessment reports.
- Determine the reserve amount and update as appropriate.
- Carry out random checks on garages and provide recommendations
- Prepare monthly reports giving claims change indicators.
- Prepare pre theft valuation reports.
- Re-inspecting vehicles within Nairobi after repairs.
- Coordinating and resolving complaints arising out of assessments with the agreed TATs.
- Recommended investigations where the damages were not consistent.
- Recommending risk improvement measures
- Any other duties as may be allocated by them
Requirements:
Applicant should have:
- Mechanical engineering Degree or diploma from a recognised University/college.
- Diploma in Insurance- CII/IIK at least 5 papers
- At least 5 years’ experience in the insurance claims handling
- Good numerical skills
- Good knowledge of the insurance industry
- Knowledge of regulations related to the insurance industry
