Job Title:Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Officer

The Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Officer will lead the monitoring, evaluation,and learning dimension of all Kakenya’s Dream programs. The successful candidate will be based in our field office located at Isampin, Transmara West, Narok County, and report to the Country Manager.
Primary Responsibilities
- Partner with the program team to ensure monitoring and evaluation plans are designed, sustainable, and implemented for each project/program
- Implement the recommendations and structure provided by a recent MEL consultant and review
- Develop monitoring and evaluation tools and processes for the all Kakenya’s Dream’s programs and staff
- Train staff on the proper collection, input, and analysis of data collected
- Ensure information regarding program activities and beneficiaries is regularly captured, analyzed, and communicated to the management team
- Determine other metrics and organizations that we should be comparing ourselves to and gather the data to do the comparisons
- In coordination with the program team adjust and improve programs and longterm planning based on data and analysis
- Contribute to the design of evaluation protocols and advise on appropriate uses of program monitoring data
Program Quality
- Ensure each project/program has clear measurable outcomes and a plan to collect and analyze that data
- Ensure each program officer is able to fully understand the importance of accurate and consistent data collection and fully execute the M&E plan
- Participate in regular planning and reflection sessions with the relevant program officers to ensure best practices are being followed and that adjustments are being made based on monitoring and evaluating the results of the programs and stated goals
Database Management
- Oversee and build out as needed the organization’s program and beneficiaries database
- Ensure the integrity of all data entered into the database
- Serve as the primary trainer and point of contact for staff entering data into the database to guarantee integrity, consistency, and accuracy
- Build out new fields, apps, and reports as the organization’s programming changes
- Develop and maintain database backups and filing systems for program data
Reporting and Documentation
- Support the program officers in data capture and reporting using monitoring tools to track program indicators as per the performance framework
- Ensure information regarding program activities and beneficiaries is regularly captured, analyzed, and communicated to the management team
- Provide technical input in the review of program reports and participate in field assessments including data verification
- Participate in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual programmatic performance reports
- Support the program team to document and disseminate lessons learned and best practices
Minimum Requirements
- Relevant higher professional education level of working and thinking (Bachelor degree or equivalent)
- Relevant work experience of 3-5 years
- Experience with project and program management
- Work experience in a rural environment
- Experience in MS Office especially Excel and in statistical software such as SPSS, Sequel or NVIVO
- Experience in designing and facilitating linking and learning activities
- Knowledge of and affinity with social inclusion, marginalization, influencing, and capacity development

- Good training/facilitation skills
