The office of Medical Research at Kenyatta National Hospital in collaboration with University of Washington is seeking to fill the following position in the project “Integrating PrEP delivery in family planning clinics in Kenya” (FP Plus Study).
Position: Study Nurses (2 Positions)
Reporting to: Project Coordinator and Principal Investigator
Location: Kisumu County
Job Term: Contract
Type of contract: 1 year (Renewable)
Essential Requirements
- Diploma/Higher Diploma in nursing
- Must be registered by nursing council of Kenya (NCK) and have a valid practicing license
- Working experience as a nurse: At least one year
- Research experience: At least 3 months
- Must have worked in MCH clinic for not less than 6 months
- Must have at least1 year experience in obtaining venous blood samples from adults
- Must have excellent skills in REDCap
- Trained in Computer packages
- Excellent communication skills: Must be able to communicate regularly with study coordinator via email/ Zoom
- Language skills: fluency in English and Kiswahili.
- Team player with ability to work closely with other study and facility staff
Duties and Responsibilities
- Recruit and enroll participants into the study
- Collect data per approved Standard Operating Procedures and input into Android tablet system
- Conduct follow up visits in person with study participants either at the facility or at home
- Collecting samples from the study participants
- Submit weekly summaries of enrollment and follow-up to the study coordinator
- Mentor facilities’ nurses on PrEP delivery
