Position Title: Teachers
A prestigious private primary school located in Kitengela, is looking for self-driven, energetic, competent, and motivated teaching staff to provide professional leadership and effective teaching.
Re: Teacher – Two positions
Reporting to the head teacher the incumbent will be responsible for carrying out their professional duties as a teacher.
Demonstrate curriculum knowledge, able to deliver effective teaching, learning and assessment to support the achievement of learners.
Key responsibilities and duties:
- Identifying clear teaching objective and specify how they will be taught and assessed
- Planning and preparing teaching and learning materials and provide clear structures for lessons maintaining pace, motivation, and challenge
- Delivering learning to learners ensuring the coverage of programmes of study and make effective use of assessment
- Preparing and maintain the professional documents i.e., schemes of work, lesson plans, record of work covered, register and other documents
- Adopting a variety of teaching methodology that match approach to content, structure information, present a set of key ideas and use appropriate vocabulary
- Select appropriate learning materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate, and use, both in learning activities and in imaginative play through library, ICT, and other sources
- Carry out assessment, recording and reporting on how well learning objectives have been achieved and use them to improve specific aspects of teaching.
- Assess and record pupils’ progress systematically and keep records to check work is understood and completed, monitor strengths and weaknesses, inform planning, and recognise the level at which the pupil is achieving
- Plan and supervise class projects, field trips, and other experiential activities and guide learners in those activities
- Maintaining discipline in accordance with the school’s procedures and encouraging good practice regarding punctuality, behaviour, standards of work and homework
Qualification and Experience
- Minimum PTE (P1) or recognised equivalent teaching qualification.
- At least 3 years working experience teaching Upper primary section
- Demonstrated teaching experience in Music and Art & Craft, Kiswahili and CRE
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- A sound understanding of recent developments in the primary school curriculum.
- A good communicator with effective written and verbal communication
- CBC training and TSC certification
- Ability to work under minimum supervision
- Proficiency in Microsoft office packages
