Job Function: To supervise facilities related functions at IMS East Africa.

Key Functions and Responsibilities

Quality Assurance

  • Initiate, implement and review facility checklists if required, to reflect current facility requirements and practices

Environmental Management System

  • Participate in the implementation of departmental and site EMS objectives and provide data as and when required

Facility Management

  • Oversee facility operations at the IMS and all the sites including the residence
  • Respond to all refrigerator failures as a result of a fridge alarm and arrange for maintenance of cold chain equipment as per company SLA where applicable.
  • Analyze possible equipment risks and losses and advice the management
  • Ensure that all service providers have given a schedule for routine maintenance on site for proper planning.

Staff Training and Development

  • Establish training needs and carry out training of housekeeping and IMS staff on matters of facility and safety

Budget Formulation and Control

  • Estimate cost of materials and labor.
  • Provide input to the annual budget process for the effective running of the IMS in matters of facility

Maintenance of environmental management system

  • To ensure that all agreed EMS objectives as per the department are achieved in as far as is practicable.
  • To ensure that all Corrective Action/ Preventive Actions proposed on internal and external audits are closed out/ implemented within required timeframe.

Qualifications, Skills, and Competence Required

  • Diploma or certificate in electrical and plumbing.
  • 3 years’ Experience in facility maintenance

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Decision–making, problem-solving, creativity

Other Requirements

  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Positive, confident, self-motivated, and able to work as a member of a team
  • Available for emergency responses
