Position Title: Finance Manager
Experience in the Retail sector is Mandatory!
Our client, in the retail distribution business sector, seeks to recruit a Finance Manager responsible for overall financial management for the business.
Key Accountabilities
Financial Accounting and Management
- Responsible for the overall financial health of the company including developing, implementing and monitoring overall business and financial strategy.
- Responsible for developing and implementing the overall budget
- Developing accounting and costing systems and ensure SOPS for accounts are fully implemented.
- Ensure that the pricing of all products is done properly, in line with the pricing policy, in a way that ensures that the company is always on track with projected profits
- Responsible for timely, consistent, accurate reconciliation of all accounts, statements etc.
- Do field visits at regular intervals to carryout internal auditing and submit management reports.
- Oversee and guide the Finance & Accounting resources for ensuring all compliances regulations and maintain the standards of governance and reporting system.
- Administration of monthly payroll and compliance with the statutory requirements
Financial analysis and reporting
- Ensure preparation of accurate and timely management reports so that decisions are made in a timely manner and as described in the KPI’s.
- Drive rigorous control cost by continuous assessing the expenses and unwanted overspend all heads of expenses & timely cost analysis.
- Ensure Year end accounts are finalized on time.
Cash flow Management
- Keeping track of debtors outstanding and bringing them into agreed credit terms.
- Creditor’s management to ensure payment terms are met and strict controls on all outgoing payments.
- Track all sales, expenditures and collections to ensure that the company is in a continuous financial gain
- To foresee and track the cash flows of the company and ensure we are able meet all our financial obligations
Financial control, Compliance and Risk management
- To put in place all measures to discourage and reduce theft, fraud and overstating expenses.
- Seek out methods for minimizing financial risk to the company including solid internal control
- Oversee the stock reports and ensure that loss of stock is kept to a minimum
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in commerce (Accounting/Finance option), Business Management (Accounting/Finance option), Economics or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- Qualified Accountant (CPA (K), ACCA or Equivalent
- At least 5 years of Financial and Management Accounting experience in the retail industry
- Strong Financial and Accounting knowledge
- Financial analysis and reporting experience
