Our client, a multinational mobile telecommunications company, seeks to recruit a qualified Project Assistant to provide support with the Planning, managing and coordinating projects and installations.
Job Location: Nairobi
Key Accountabilities
- Liaise with clients and project stakeholders on ongoing projects, installations and continuously update all parties as agreed at kick off meetings.
- Facilitate site surveys as requested by Sales and CRM and send reports after liaising with the surveyors.
- Liaise and coordinate with installers on installation projects.
- Handle maintenance of links in liaison with the technical staff and Sales.
- Coordinate with service providers on the provision of new links, upgrades, downgrades, or relocation of existing links.
- Proactively manage changes in project scope and devise contingency plans.
- Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using MS Project.
- Tracking of project milestones and deliverables.
- Ensure all required documents are signed and stored in a central location – Delivery Note, Project Reports.
- Organize project kick-off and closure meetings with staff (Internal) and customers (external) with presentations where necessary.
- Preparation of project closure reports and project closure certificates at the close of each project.
- Compilation of the weekly and monthly Implementation reports.
- Cessation of links as per the exit process or requests from finance
- Build and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the department.
- Assist in clearance of shipments for other departments.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Project Management / Business or IT-related field.
- Professional certification in Project Management will be an added advantage
- Experience in planning and coordinating work activities
- Experience working with people and customers
- At least 2 year’s work experience in an ICT environment
- Proficiency in use of MS Projects and other MS Office packages
- Familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices
