Career Opportunity: Social Enterprise Project Assistant
Salary: Kshs. 30,000pm
One of our Clients in the Humanitarian Industry, based in Lokichoggio, is looking for a dynamic person to join the enterprise staff team.
One will play an active part in the development, implementation and monitoring of projects actions, policies and procedures and have a particular responsibility for the promotion, development, and implementation of a Social Enterprise strategy within the organizations.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Review and update a social enterprises strategy for the organization.
- Promote a social enterprise culture with local stakeholders.
- Identify and nurture potential social enterprise ideas.
- Provide business-planning support to emerging enterprises.
- Developing the necessary operational structures within groups to support the launch of new social enterprises.
- Take an active role in the operational delivery of selected social enterprises.
- Be accountable for managing approved pilot enterprises.
- Implementing agreed activities to create and nurture sustainable social enterprise
- Ensuring the implementation of agreed business objectives for social enterprises
- Creation of a local network / directory of social enterprise business and their leaders.
- Identifying and securing funding for the social enterprises.
- Keeping all the key information systems up to date.
- Engage with, and provide appropriate information to, funders/stakeholders
Person Specification
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- a clear understanding of social enterprise
- an ability to develop business plans;
- a track record in supporting emerging businesses
- excellent interpersonal and communications skills;
- a collaborative approach to working with social enterprises in their start-up phase
- An ability to resolve issues.
- experience of delivering projects and tasks on time
- A high level of IT literacy.
- Project management competences.
Required Qualification
- A Diploma or equivalent qualification in Business Management
- Experience writing and implementing business plans including market research and feasibility plans
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in similar capacity:
- Knowledge of basic MS Office (email, spread-sheets, word, job-related software, etc.).
