Tarakwo Dairies Company Limited wishes to announce the following vacancies:
Job Title: Quality Control Officer
(1) Position
He/She will be reporting to the Production Manager. .
Duties and Responsibilities.
- Receiving clean, fresh and quality milk that meets the prescribed quality requirements.
- Milk Quality tests and controls.
- Development and implementation of milk quality policies, strategies, work plan, budget for the organization including technical assistance of staff and farmers on milk quality issues.
- Documentation of milk procurement and quality processes in Tarakwo Dairies including preparation of periodic milk procurement and quality reports to be submitted to the board.
- Maintenance of proper hygiene standards at the Factory and ensure the quality of milk in the coolers is not compromised .Conduct regular milk testing as established by board.
- Facilitation of budgeting and procurement of milk quality facilities and equipments for the company.
- Custodian of milk equipment for the company and proper handling of plant machinery in accordance with the defined operations and maintenance procedures.
- Promotion of linkages and good public relations with stakeholders.
- Ensure efficient transportation of milk to the processors without compromising on quality issues
- He/she will be responsible for Milk Grading, Processing, Packaging and Distribution
- Carry out any other duties that from time to time may be assigned by the Manager or the Board of Directors.
- Ensure that the plants’ operations and status are within the safeguards of law, contract and market quality standards and ensure that all licenses for quality purposes are in place.
Key Result Areas;
- Effective milk collection and quality system established
- Milk procurement and quality policy document developed
- Proper documentation and timely periodical report submission to the Production Manager.
- Increase in milk collection, clean and good quality milk –reduction in milk spoilages
- Effective communication and feedback system on quality established-communicate farmer complaints to the Manager or the Board of Directors in case there is any.
- Milk Quality tests and controls
- Processing of Dairy Products
- Ensure proper hygiene and sanitation in the Factory
- Maintenance of proper and accurate records.
- Advise Farmers on Milk Quality.
Qualifications
- Must have a Degree/Diploma in Dairy Technology or Food Science and Technology from a recognized institution.
- Experience in Milk Testing and Laboratory Procedures and analysis.
- Must have at least 2 year experience in the Dairy Industry.
