Interior Design Operations Manager Job Vacancy in Kenya

Position Title: Operations Manager

Our Client is an interior design firm based in Nairobi Kenya.

They provide end-to-end processes for design solutions; from design, planning, and execution (build/fit out) to furnishing and decorating spaces, in both residential and commercial projects.

They are looking for an Operations Manager.

He/she will oversee the company’s financials, operations and reporting systems, as well as perform administrative tasks.

Gross Salary: Kes 70,000.00

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support project operations and project management
  • Find, prepare, and submit competitive tenders
  • Scrutinize and review tender drawings/documents for clarity and accuracy
  • Analyse and compare quotations received at bid stage
  • On-board new clients and receive initial client briefing
  • Prepare bills of quantities, perform cost pricing and cost analysis
  • Make site visits to take measurements, monitor progress and project cashflows
  • Analyse and recommend subcontractor payments
  • Check and review the site requisitions and compare them with the approved BoQ
  • Generate cash flow projections for projects, manage the cash flow and monitor the costs
  • Coordinate procurement process including finding and managing vendors and suppliers
  • Submit and negotiate contract variations and additional works
  • Oversee the procurement process of materials, machinery, and equipment
  • Understand and assess the implications of health and safety regulations
  • Facilitate contractual and legal compliance
  • Follow up on payments and manage client relations
  • Perform day-to-day general administrative duties and support the implementation of HR policies.

Person’s Requirements

  • Must have at least 4 years of work experience in an Interior design company
  • Must have experience undertaking interior fit-out projects
  • Experience managing construction projects with an emphasis on interior fit-out
  • Exposure in project financing
  • Minimum Diploma in Quantity Surveying and Minimum 4 years’ experience in quantity surveying
  • Has experience preparing Bills of Quantities (BoQ).
  • ArchiCAD/AutoCAD quantity take-off experience
  • Possess good leadership ability, as well as the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Very strong client relationship management skills
  • Well experienced in managing procurement processes and vendor management
  • Multi-skilled, self-motivated, energetic, able to work well under pressure
  • Very keen attention to detail
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal, managerial and presentation skills
