St. Francis Community Hospital wishes to recruit a highly motivated, result oriented, competent, honest and remarkably talented Ophthalmic Clinical Officer with strong work ethics and passion for excellence.

The Ophthalmic Clinical Officer shall review the eye department activities and priorities on a regular basis updating the Medical Superintendent on gaps and/or provide recommendations on how to improve quality of services as well as the planning, implementation and management of the Eye Department in the Hospital.
Responsibilities
- Provide treatment for eye diseases
- Work in conjunction with optometrist and other health care officers to provide integrated, quality care for patients.
- Evaluate symptoms, run tests to diagnose a patient’s condition and then prescribe medication or treatment to remedy the illness or injury.
- Perform minor eye surgeries, trachoma surgeries and refer complicated cases appropriately.
- Maintain equipment in a good condition and submit regular inventory reports of the same.
- Attend and participate in weekly Continuous Medical Education (CME) sessions at the hospital.
Knowledge and Experience Required
- Diploma in Clinical medicine and Higher Diploma in Ophthalmology from a recognized Institution
- Registered with the Clinical Officer’s Council- Kenya
- One year experience (Post specialization)
- Must be willing to work during odd hours and on weekends/holidays
- Committed to work in multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated ability to uphold and align oneself with the core values of St. Francis Community Hospital.
