Position Title: Manager of Outreach and Partnerships
The Jesuit Conference coordinates the five Jesuit Provinces in Canada and the United States and facilitates relations with the international headquarters in Rome. The Conference’s Office of Justice and Ecology (OJE) advocates on a range of issues to advance the Jesuit vision of justice, primarily with the U.S. federal government. OJE is nonpartisan and seeks to express how Catholic values such as human dignity and the common good are at stake in policy decisions. The office sets its advocacy priorities in conjunction with Jesuit ministries throughout the United States and Canada and in partnership with Jesuit institutions abroad.

Job Responsibilities
- In coordination with the Secretary of Justice and Ecology, the Government Relations Director, and the Communications Manager, develop and implement comprehensive advocacy strategies that engage the Jesuit network and advance OJE advocacy priorities.
- Build and maintain relationships with Jesuits, leaders of Jesuit ministries, and members of the Ignatian family, and identify those people in our networks best positioned to advance OJE advocacy efforts.
- Build the advocacy capacity of Jesuits, leaders of Jesuit ministries, and members of the Ignatian family by:
- Organizing policy and advocacy training for institutional leaders in Ignatian networks;
- Coordinating sessions on OJE advocacy priorities at events such as the annual Catholic Social Ministry Gathering and Ignatian Family Teach-in for Justice (e.g. planning and helping to lead workshops, plenary talks, tool-kits, advocacy training, prayer services);
- Collaborating with the Communications Manager to produce effective advocacy campaign materials, including public statements, action alerts, and related stories.
- Work closely with Jesuit institutions, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, and other Catholic organizational partners to ensure coordination of advocacy efforts, consistency of messaging, and collaboration of efforts where appropriate.
- Represent the Conference in Jesuit networks, including as:
- co-chair of the Jesuit Migration Network of the U.S. and Canada,
- delegate to the Red Jesuita con Migrantes – Centroamérica y Norteamérica.
Professional Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years in constituency engagement, membership services, customer relations, or other public-facing job required.
- Spanish fluency required. Experience in Latin America preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in related discipline required; post-graduate degree preferred.
- Ability to work on a range of public policy issues.
- Working knowledge of Catholic Church organizational structures and Catholic social teaching.
- Ability to respond flexibly and with perseverance to challenges of advocacy.
- Available for regular travel.
- Passion for social justice.
