CMMB has been sub-granted by Amref Health Africa to implement activities under the New Funding Model of Global Fund for TB HIV/AIDS and Malaria (GFTAM) supporting two of the TB high burden counties in Kenya namely Machakos and Makueni. CMMB’s support for community-based TB prevention activities contributes to the national goal, set in 2019, of ensuring provision of quality care and prevention services for all people in Kenya with Tuberculosis and contributing to the attainment of universal health coverage through comprehensive TB/HIV prevention, treatment and care.
We do this through community-level TB care and prevention as well as addressing the TB/HIV nexus by equipping, supporting, and building capacity of community health systems and actors.

Department Summary
The Programs Department plays a critical role in achieving CMMB’s strategy around improving the lives of
women and children, by leading the provision of high quality programs
focused on children’s and mothers’ health, and particularly in the
development and implementation of our CHAMPS model.
This team is also responsible for generating revenue from and partnering effectively with government(s), major foundations, and other major donors, and will help to position and enhance CMMB’s technical capacity and reputation in the field of global healthcare.
CMMB has been working in Kenya for almost 16 years.
CMMB works to ensure that the most vulnerable populations, especially mothers and children, have access to quality services in health care, health promotion and illness prevention.
Overview
Job Group: Locum / Temporary
Under the guidance of MEL Officer and/or his designate, the Data Clerk will support the day-to-day project implementation, tracking and reporting.
The role includes daily data collection; collation; abstraction; verification of results reported; analysis and dissemination.
He/she will ensure accurate entry of all Global Fund Program activities into the relevant databases.
Further, they will support the field-based activities as may be assigned from time to time.
Duties and responsibilities
1. Support routine field-based data collection as well as participation in planning and review meetings held with community resource persons engaged by the program.
2. Keep track of received data and source documents
3. Compile, sort, and verify accuracy of data to be entered.
4. Follow up with those responsible for preparation of source documents to resolve questions, inconsistencies, or missing data.
5. Undertake data entry from source documents into computerized databases following prescribed formats.
6. Assist in monthly, quarterly, and semi-annual data reporting in accordance with the program’s indicators and reporting requirements.
7. Effectively communicate to the MEL Officer and/or his designate on the emerging issues on the data tools, data management and indicators.
8. Ensuring data management standard operation procedures (SOPs) are implemented and adhered to the latter.
9. Participate in quality improvement, quality assurance and management functions at the station.
10. Participate in routine data quality assessments at the project sites.
11. Maintain privacy, security and confidentiality of program data and related documents including any
confidential information s/he may come in contact with.
12. Support/participate in the documentation and learning agenda of the program.
13. Carry out any other duty assignment as may be assigned.
Qualifications
1. Minimum of Diploma in Health Records, Informatics, biostatistics, behavioural and social sciences, or any other related discipline.
2. Competency in Microsoft office package especially excel, word and powerpoint as well as fast typing skills; knowledge of touch-typing systems is strongly preferred.
3. Basic understanding of databases
4. Experience or strong knowledge on data management practices.
5. Positive attitude and open minded with strong analytical and listening skills.
6. Demonstrates diplomacy, flexibility, resourcefulness and ready to learn where necessary.
7. Prominent level of integrity and honesty.
8. Excellent communication skills, teamwork, and cooperation
Terms of engagement
The successful candidates will be engaged on short term basis with possibility of extension subject to availability of funds, satisfactory performance, and need for the service.
