Our Client, in the Horticulture Industry is seeking to hire an Export & Logistics Specialist.
The position holder should have an in-depth knowledge of shipment processes to both domestic and international clients.
They should maintain updated records, ensure compliance and adherence to all processes at all times. Have a good track record in the establishment of long-lasting relationships and acquisition of new clients.
Applicants must be self-motivated, ethical and focused individuals, with a desire to grow their career in this industry.
Responsibilities
Participate in organizational activities to meet or exceed company objectives, by applying knowledge from the area of expertise, to the on-going projects that will help drive deliverability, profitability and eventually growth.
Develop and maintain sales processes, for contacting clients to help track sales objectives, and reach out to clients as needed for client retention and sales.
Lead on the strategic growth and development of clients by leveraging the in-house services like marketing, advertising and if necessary, samples.
Develop budget estimates and manage any given program to meet revenue and cost projections
Scout and report accurate forecasts of the markets and its dynamics, customer buying behavior in the markets and provide solutions to the expected challenges.
Increase offers in the sales pipeline and ensure follow-up to close deals quickly. Make a forecast on sales per region in which the product is sold.
Manage record keeping of all the accounts for easier reconciliation during the audit period.
Deep knowledge of a country’s transport system, customs requirements and international commerce standards.
Proper understanding of all the certifications needed for the produce being traded
Mitigate any trade compliance issues that may arise from the minute a client places an order to when the client receives the container.
Work closely with service providers to gather shipment details, resolve problems that may arise and streamline any processes as needed.
Have a wide network locally to assist in the sourcing of produce for sales in either the local or international markets.
Work closely with business development to come up with strategies that can be used to expand the scope of business conducted, thus tapping into new opportunities that will gradually grow revenue.
Perform related duties as assigned, or as the situation dictates.
Any other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Diploma/Certificate in Sales and Marketing, and Agribusiness or related course an advantage
- A Degree in Supply Chain Management is a requirement
- At least 4 years practical experience in export and logistics (customs clearing and freight forwarding)
- Computer Literate (working knowledge of MS-Office Suite)
