Position Title: Operations Manager
Job Purpose: The job holder will be responsible for Building, Positioning & Profitably Leading Petroleum Business & New Ventures in E.A Region covering Burundi, Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, and South Sudan.
A business Leader who will successfully define real-time business strategy and translating into high-impact actions, operations and financial results. Expert in identifying and capturing new business and new market opportunities through strategic identification and negotiation of mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, partnerships and strategic alliances around the Lakes region. Top-flight problem-solving and decision-making talents.
Must possess broad cross-functional leadership experience across all core business functions with emphasis on technology development and commercialization, Engineering, supply chain, operations, public relations, sales and marketing, finance, human resources, multi-site operations and productivity/performance improvement.

Job Description / Requirements
- Drive P&L Performance in all the financial goals i.e. Grow sales, Drive net income, increase contribution margin rates, raise working capital turns and increased cash position.
- Business Revitalization. Strengthen the operations, competencies and performance of entire business unit.
- New Business Wins. Drive several notable commercial wins and lead in the Expansion of geographic market coverage and new depot facilities
- Operations/Performance Improvement. Lead the supply chain review and analysis of various modes of transport to inform investment decisions that will drive competitiveness in the markets and optimally deliver business objectives.
- Oversee accounting and maintenance of all new assets that the company deploys in the markets Lead and manage the operations at all depots. Monitor and ensure adequate product inventory to service customers at all the depots. Oversee depot operations including product receipt, inventory control and accounting, product quality control and facility maintenance
- Project Integration: Coordinate and direct projects, making detailed plans that align project goals and business strategies to improve project performance. Direct, review, and approve product design and changes.
- Business Development: Assist the CEO in acquiring new businesses by maintaining customer effective contact. Maintain a working knowledge of the oil market including competitive information on ownership and throughout volume. Launch new products to generate more sales by partnering with reputable companies in the world to offer total energy solutions
- Business Support: Develop Opex and Capex plans for the company by monitoring, controlling and reporting against the business plans.
- Staff Management: Ensure that the staffs are informed at all times the company objectives, progress and future action plans. Discuss and agree performance targets and ensure staff discipline is maintained.
- Administrative functions: Reinforce administrative policies, standard operating procedures and regulations at the country (RSS).
- Asset management: Ensure that all plant and equipment at the depots are optimally maintained and made available for operations through the implementation of planned maintenance programs.
- Contract Management: Ensure that current and future contracts are managed effectively
Compliance to standards at depots: Ensure compliance with aviation industry policies, procedures and standards. Responsible for developing the relevant manuals i.e. Site specific procedure, operations and quality control Manuals and Health safety Security management system ( HSSE) - Credit Management: Assist the CEO in managing credit exposure for contracted customers. To ensure that credit sales both existing and new ones are fully secured by bank guarantees.
- Operational Excellence: Monitor all the depots to ensure that they undertake the planned Loss Prevention Systems. Activities and reviews done accordingly. Ensuring targets are met.
- Management of projects. Ensuring that they are executed according to design specifications and established industry standards.
Job Skills & Competencies:
- Demonstrate high levels of integrity, Good understanding of team leadership and talent management, sound financial management with deep financial acumen, Customer management and operational management; Young, Agile and IT Fluency.

Academic Qualifications
- Bachelors’ degree in a field relevant to petroleum engineering from recognized university.
- Minimum ten (10) years relevant experience, three (3) of which must be at senior management level gained in Project Management operations in petroleum industry
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of engineering aspects in Oil/gas Industry including broad knowledge of local and international standards
- Qualification in Project Management will be an added advantage
