Construction Manager Career Opportunity in Juba, South Sudan

One of our clients, in the Construction Industry, based in Juba, South Sudan in is looking for a qualified candidates to fill the following positions:

Position Title: Construction Manager

The Manager will be responsible for overseeing construction sites, general contractors, and workers to ensure a high level of quality and safety in order to achieve the set Company goals and objectives.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Create and review Requests for Information and Requests for Proposal and Change Orders.
  • Ensure that the project is constructed and documented in accordance with the contract documents and good engineering practices.
  • Provide technical support to Project Managers.
  • Supervise new property development
  • Scheduling and supervise renovation work
  • Bidding and shortlisting suppliers
  • Supervise properties security and caretakers
  • Coordinate design, cost estimation for new development proposals
  • Schedule and supervise routine vehicle and generators maintenance
  • Recruit, test, prepare payroll and supervise company tippers drivers
  • Develop and maintain project cost/change controls, and project budget and accounting records.
  • Perform change order estimating and assists the Project Manager in change order negotiations.
  • Coordinate and monitor schedule updates, invoices, and submittals.
  • Assist in managing and reviewing the progress of contractors’ construction schedules.
  • Review weekly and monthly reports on the status and progress of the contracts, including project costs and potential changes.
  • Report the status of projects to business and market leaders.
  • Attend client program meetings as needed.

Job Requirements & Competencies

  • Bachelor’s or Masters of Science in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or other related discipline required
  • 5+ years of project experience working in the construction industry required
  • EIT certification preferred
  • Experience with large Commercial facilities construction sites preferred
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite of tools, exposure to schedule software, preferably Primavera (P6) preferred.
  • Prior working and hands on experience in construction site supervision
  • Clear understanding of building sites safety measures
  • Ability to Manage diverse teams and drive results.
  • Excellent oral and written Communication Skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
