Job Title: Anaesthetic Assistant

The Aga Khan Hospital, Kisumu has Outreach Health Services at Kisii, Kakamega, Kitale, Bungoma, Kericho, Kibuye-Kisumu, West End- Kisumu, Busia, Homa – Bay, Migori, Bomet and Eldoret.

Anaesthetic Assistant
Vacancy No. AKHK/NUR/AA/04/23
Overall Responsibility: Reporting to the Head Nurse – Theatre, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting and preparing for the procedures of induction and maintenance / observation of anesthesia, by ensuring the anesthesia equipment, instruments, and anaesthesia drug trolley are always ready for the procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare anesthesia equipment and machines in readiness for use.
- Assist in induction and maintenance of anesthesia.
- Assist in anesthesia emergencies.
- Clean and decontaminate anesthesia equipment and surfaces.
- Stock the anaesthesia drug trolley.
Requirements
- A certificate in Anaesthetic Assistant from a recognized Institution.
- At least two (2) years’ working experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Able to work efficiently under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
