About Us

The Kenya Land Alliance (KLA) formally a Trust and registered as an NGO in July 2013 was established to create an institutional mechanism to advocate for enabling land laws and policies in order to ensure secure and equitable access to land and natural resources in Kenya.

Since inception, Kenya Land Alliance has experienced remarkable growth. As a result of its activities, KLA has curved a niche in lobbying and advocacy for reforms of land laws and policies in Kenya.

Purpose of the Position: The Project Manager will manage the development and implementation of Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning and Systems (MELS) for KLAs programs/projects.

A strong emphasis is on data collection, integrity, data analysis, reporting and dissemination to key stakeholders.

Responsibilities & Deliverables

  • Collect/manage data to support framework design, target setting, and progress management.
  • Ensure the effective implementation of policies, procedures and guidelines for specific projects.
  • Ensure proper use of available digital tools and technology for effectively managing of program activities.
  • Respond to periodic donor requests for additional information on project activities and results.
  • Supervise and manage supporting MELS staff for efficient work and maintaining compliance.
  • Ensure timely data availability and reporting to stakeholders.
  • Support the development of concept notes, project proposals, and submission to potential donors.
  • Assist in networking with other development organizations, governments and other line agencies in promoting KLA’s development model/initiatives and potential collaborations.
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested.

Qualification and Experience

  • Master’s degree in Social Science, Economics, Population Studies, Monitoring and Evaluation alternatively, an environmental degree will also do.
  • Minimum of six years’ experience in Monitoring Evaluation and Learning with at least 2 years managerial experience.

  • Ability to understand, appreciate and implement KLA’s Values-Based Holistic Community Development model.
  • Demonstrated creativity, ability to think systematically, willingness and ability to incorporate innovative solutions.
  • Quantitative and qualitative approaches to evaluation and ability to communicate MEL concepts clearly with leadership, partners, and staff at all levels.
  • Willingness and ability to assign and review the work of direct reports and to use participatory management skills with junior and senior staff.
  • Proven team leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to train and work cooperatively with a diverse staff, including field staff in various locations.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
  • Ability to manage and execute multiple tasks with little supervision while meeting inflexible deadlines.
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary and multicultural team.
  • Willingness and ability to travel.
