Position Title: Supply Chain Officer - Distribution
Mission for Essential Drugs and Supplies (MEDS) is a faith-based health solutions provider founded by an ecumenical partnership of the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB) and the Christian Health Association of Kenya (CHAK). The Organization’s core mandate is to provide reliable and affordable Health Products and Technologies, Quality Assurance and Health Systems Strengthening Services MEDS was established in 1986 and serves clients spread all over Kenya, other regions in Africa and beyond.
MEDS has entered into a Contract with USAID Kenya and East Africa named USAID Supply Chain Strengthening. The purpose of the contract is to obtain efficient, reliable and accountable supply chain management services for the procurement, warehousing, and distribution of health commodities for HIV, Malaria, Tuberculosis, Maternal/Neonatal/Child Health (MNCH) and Global Health Security (GHS) activities for patients across all 47 Counties in Kenya for adequate care, treatment and prevention for communicable diseases and other health needs. MEDS seeks to recruit a Supply Chain Officer - Distribution for this Project:
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaison with County and Sub-County Pharmacists, Tuberculosis, Malaria and Laboratory Coordinators and implementing partners
- Liaison with County and Sub-County Pharmacists and follow-up on deliveries of consignments to health facilities
- Liaison with all implementing partners within the counties and create robust feedback loop mechanisms for addressing clients’ concerns
- Conduct post-delivery internal surveys to reconcile USAID commodities and address any anomalies identified promptly
- Liaison with MEDS Operations Centre for seamless communication, feedbacks and updates on executed key performance indicators and emerging issues
- Conduct spot-checks and targeted support supervision visits to monitor and evaluate deliveries within sub-counties and generate related reports
- Prepare and submit monthly progress report on the implementation of the USAID funded project in the assigned region
Candidate Profile:
- At least 3 years’ experience in PEPFAR/USAID funded projects management and county collaborations
- Bachelors in Health Sciences; Nursing, Clinical Medicine, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Pharmacy, Health Systems Management or related field. Certification in project management, monitoring and evaluation
- Registration with relevant professional body and a valid practise license.
- Valid driving license with 2 years driving experience.
