Position Title: Junior Communication, Advocacy and Fundraising officer

Tasks

Production of communication material

  • Contributing to the creation of materials to be published on the website and on the social media (e.g. articles, news, copies, infographics);
  • Contributing to the creation of materials related to projects;
  • Planning together with the HQ the production of web contents;
  • Manage internal communication channels
  • Develop communication tools or products tailor made for fundraising (according to the target audience);
  • Gather audiovisual materials on field activities and on the Organization work

Coordination

  • Prepare reports as required on the programming activities for internal use, for donors and stakeholders;
  • Support the sharing and disseminating of successes, lessons learnt and best practices with the mission and with your focal point in HQ
  • Participate in the staff meetings
  • Organize regular meetings with your focal point in HQ
  • Support the organization of training sessions, awareness campaigns and project public events (launch events, workshops, etc.).
  • Manage and enrich the photo and video archive of WeWorld, sharing them with HQ through the process that will be established with your focal point;
  • Develop a fundraising strategy for WeWorld in Kenya to approach both institutional and corporate/private donors;
  • Support WeWorld staff in fundraising meetings with the potential donors;

Coordination with external stakeholders

  • Taking part in WeWorld coordination meetings, external conference, workshops
  • Represent effectively the organization in external relations (local authorities, donors, project partners, coordination groups, etc.) with the proper brand identity;

Studies

  • Studies Degree in communication, advocacy, political science and related studies;
  • Specific media and communication studies or courses
  • Courses or certificates in media production, design

Skills and Languages

  • Fluent in English written and spoken,
  • Excellent knowledge and good general knowledge of the full Office Package;
  • Stress management;
  • Adaptability;
  • Team work;
  • Intercultural awareness and respectful attitude towards other customs and traditions;
  • Good interpersonal, team work skills and ability to work independently;
  • Good ability to adapt to the situation of instability;
  • Ability to write reports and articles;
  • knowledge of web 2.0 and its potential for the internet positioning;
  • Knowledge of the main CMS, the application office and e-mail tools;
  • Confident on photo editing tools (eg. Adobe Photoshop), and basic graphical management for text and graphics

Experience

  • Professional or volunteering experience in similar activities (communication, digital marketing, publishing activities) of at least 1 years (cumulative);
