Position Title: Regional Missions Partnership Officer
World Concern is a US-based, Christian humanitarian relief and development organization working in Africa, Asia and the Americas. Established in 1955, World Concern works to alleviate suffering among the poor in developing countries and to address the root causes in each context.
World Concern’s primary strategy is community-based, integrated development. World Concern works in multiple-sectors to build the capacity of village-based groups, non-governmental partners and other counterparts to lead and sustain their development.
World Concern is committed to best practices of inclusive, participatory and accountable relief and development and maintains rigorous standards of both financial and program monitoring. Program assistance is provided on the basis of need alone, without regard to race, creed or lineage

Duty Station: Nairobi regional office
Duration: 1-year (Renewable)
Job Summary: Africans to Africa (A2A) is a World Concern’s initiative in partnership with the regional churches. (Churches based in areas that are fairly reached with the Gospel in Africa, beginning from Nairobi.)
The initiative exists to mobilize the regional church to support evangelistic and discipling efforts of the churches sitting at the doorway of unreached marginalized areas in Africa.
A2A is founded on the ideology that the responsibility to evangelize the unreached areas of Africa, without excluding the external players, first rests on the shoulders of the Africans themselves.
The goal is to see the African Church progressively using its own resources to bring lasting transformation in the unreached areas of Africa.
The Regional Missions Partnership Officer will have responsibility for regional implementation, integration, and growth of the A2A programming throughout World Concern’s Africa countries of operation. This position has significant interaction with staff, partners (Christian professionals & churches), community partners, and the public.
As such, its impact on the overall standing and credibility of World Concern must be considered at all times, and this position must safeguard the reputation of the organization with all stakeholders.
This position will work in close cooperation with country, regional, and global headquarters staff to ensure high quality project delivery.
Essential Functions
Leadership
- Providing leadership and strategic direction by ensuring the implementation of the A2A vision in keeping with the project strategy documents
- Provide strong and clear leadership in articulating and championing World Concern’s Transformational Development ethos.
- Facilitating growth and sustainability of A2A initiative by drafting strategy of expansion to potential areas
- Taking lead in the development of key project documents such as work plans, strategic documents etc.
- Plan and convene quarterly meetings of A2A secretariat, Advisory Committee (AC) and Resource Mobilization Team (RMT) meetings.
- Participate in the recruitment and onboarding of coordinators and ensuring their adherence to organizational policies and ethics.
- Provide ongoing mentorship and training of A2A Coordinators.
Partnership development and fundraising
- Pray and mobilize the church to pray for the field work and workers.
- Develop networks and platforms to mobilize individual and church partners to support the A2A initiative.
- Develop fruitful and robust relationships with pastors and church mission boards in the region.
- Organize and create opportunities for vision casting meetings with regional churches.
- Organize short-term missions for interested regional churches as appropriate.
- Organize gala events geared toward getting new individuals and churches to support the A2A initiative.
Communication
- Fostering communication between partners and adopted evangelists by ensuring that timely ministry reports and profiles for new evangelists are of high quality and timely dispatched.
- Ensure timely and adequate flow of information amongst all stakeholders supporting the initiative namely the A2A Secretariat, the
- Advisory committee, the resource mobilization team, the churches, WC staff and other partners
- Ensure development and documentation of timely and quality project reports such as MPRs, quarterly reports and newsletters, annual newsletters as well as narrative reports
- Represent A2A Secretariat in Advisory Council meetings when necessary
- Develop content for A2A promotional materials including brochures, newsletters, bookmarks and other promotional materials
- Act as the desk officer in A2A meetings. This involves making invitations, writing and keeping meeting records and tracking actionable points.
Monitoring and evaluation
- Preparing monthly project reports of the activities undertaken at the Nairobi Coordination area and reviewing field generated updates to ensure high quality reporting.
- Developing monitoring and evaluation tools and assisting in data analysis and generation of survey reports
- Monitoring the budget burn rates and guiding the finance on the right lines to charge and the coordinator’s expenditure accordingly
- Taking part in Monthly Program Reviews (MPR) and workshops for the purposes of monitoring activities as well as reviewing the progress of the initiative. This also involves populating the MPR with updates from the Nairobi Coordination region.
Material Development
- Participating development of training materials for discipleship
- Working closely with pastors to ensure the availability of training materials for the pastors and evangelists
Short-term missions
- Liaising with the World Concern Human Resource / logistics department and country teams to ensure safe travel and stay of pastors and other visiting guests in the field.
- Organize short-term missions for interested churches and individuals including training
Essential Qualifications
- High degree of ownership, passion and commitment to World Concern’s vision, mission, and values.
- Spiritually mature with a strong theological understanding of the Gospel, the local church, and missions.
- Able to disciple others and provide spiritual leadership in a group setting.
- Fluent in spoken and written English and Kiswahili; able to translate and interpret.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills, including effective time management, scheduling, and prioritization of competing demands and multiple deadlines.
- Demonstrated experience in project/program management and financial management.
- Strong cross-cultural understanding and cross-cultural communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligence with the ability to interact genuinely, sensitively and appropriately with people from a diverse range of cultures and backgrounds.
- Willing and able to travel frequently to remote and harsh locations throughout World Concern’s operational countries with responsibility for other travelers.
- Demonstrated experience in cultivating and expanding fundraising partnerships.
- High degree of comfort with leading through influence without line authority. Skilled at building consensus and collaborating across an organization.
- Able to work independently with little supervision and within a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree Humanities and Social sciences, Theology or any other relevant course. Post-graduate studies in missions, Biblical studies, intercultural studies, anthropology or another relevant field will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Demonstratable Experience in support raising for missions.
- 3+ years of experience working in an international organization.
